Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints honors Hindu statesman Rajan Zed

In a remarkable interfaith gesture, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) has honored Hindu statesman Rajan Zed.

The plaque in his honor, which was presented to Zed (who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism) at an interfaith clergy reception accorded in his honor in Nevada in the US by George M. Keele, Member Quorum of the Seventy of The Church, read? ?Rajan is service. Whether it be chronically abused Romani people, or gypsies; or those among us who know not God; or those of color; or those of unpopular creed; or those whose parents knew only hatred; or those who have known only abuse, Rajan, as a beautifully tuned instrument in the hands of the Almighty?" Plaque further said: Rajan knows and exemplifies St. Exupery?s axiom? ?L?essentiel est invisible aux yeux; on ne voit qu?avec le coeur,? or ?The essential is invisible to the eyes; one sees only with the heart.? May Rajan?s heart?s vision continue to enlighten our paths forever.

Beginning with ?He went about doing good??, it stated? ?Albert Einstein said, ?There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.? Rajan Zed lives the latter: To Rajan, we are all God?s miracle.?

The plaque also quoted from Dr. Albert Schweitzer, Eli Wiesel and The Acts of the Apostles; and mentioned Old Testament and Mahatma Gandhi.

Zed has taken up interfaith, religion, environment, Roma (Gypsies) and other causes all over the world. He has read opening prayers in United States Senate, various state senates and houses of representatives, counties and city councils all over the US. He was invited by President of European Parliament in Brussels (Belgium) for a meeting to promote interfaith dialogue. Many cities in the US have named October 25 as ?Rajan Zed Day?.

Bestowed with ?World Interfaith Leader Award?; Zed is Senior Fellow and Religious Advisor to New York headquartered Foundation for Religious Diplomacy, Spiritual Advisor to National Association of Interchurch & Interfaith Families, etc. He prominently appeared in a recently released documentary on religion titled ?Unresolvable??.

According to LDS sources, Jesus Christ is the head of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which has been restored by God through the Prophet Joseph Smith (1805-44). The Church, headquartered in Salt Lake City (Utah, USA), is led by 15 Apostles, which include President Thomas S. Monson who is also considered a prophet. One of the fastest growing church, it has over 14.4-million members in over 170 nations, about 29,000 congregations and 140 temples, and over 50,000 missionaries serving at any one time in nearly 340 worldwide missions.
